NOTE:

1. ASKING FOR ATTENTION AND SHOWING ATTENTION

Ketika kita akan berbicara dengan orang lain atau sedang berbicara dengan orang lain, seringkali kita ingin meminta orang lain untuk memperhatikan kita sehingga pesan yang kita berikan sampai ke lawan bicara kita. Di dalam Bahasa Inggris kita bisa menggunakan ekspresi Asking for Attention untuk meminta perhatian lawan bicara kita. Orang yang kita ajak bicara juga dapat menunjukkan perhatiannya kepada kita sebagai pembicara dengan ekspresi Showing Attention to the Speaker. Ekspresi apa saja yang bisa kita gunakan untuk menunjukkan Asking for Attention dan Showing Attention to the Speaker dapat kita lihat dalam tabel di atas.

Setelah melihat ekspresi-ekspresi yang bisa kita gunakan, selanjutnya kita akan melihat bagaimana ekspresi-ekspresi tersebut dapat digunakan di dalam dialog di dalam contoh

What about going to the cinema?  That’s a good idea. I don’t think that it is a good idea!
